Golf Cart Rollover: The "why" might surprise you.
Golf cars and personal-transport vehicles are seeing more usage on public roads and in neighborhoods. Increased popularity is leading to increased incidents of injuries. ADEG Testing has investigated numerous incidents of loss of control and rollovers on these types of vehicles, often with life-altering injuries or death. ADEG Testing's insightful analysis has shown that the impetus of these rollovers and incidents is many times a sudden loss of vehicle control due to a rear-only brake design. This loss of control upon brake application is sudden and unexpected. Brake application, especially on slopes, has been shown to result in extremely high and unrecoverable yaw rates leading to the vehicle traveling off the intended path and/or rolling over. ADEG Testing has also shown that the addition of front brakes would eliminate the loss of control and prevent these injuries.
